Kristy Gordon is a New York–based Canadian artist whose evocative figurative paintings explore themes of myth, mysticism, and alternate realities. Blending contemporary representational painting with esoteric motifs, mythic references, and narrative invention, her work evokes imagined spaces where inner worlds and the subconscious converge. Gordon holds an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA from OCAD University. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally at institutions including the European Museum of Modern Art (Barcelona), the National Academy Museum (New York City), and Flowers Gallery (New York City). A three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant, she has completed residencies in China, Italy, and Norway, and apprenticed with Odd Nerdrum. Her work is held in over 600 private and public collections worldwide, including the Government of Ontario Art Collection and The Clearing House (New York City).
“While fantastical, the environs I depict are not purely imaginary — they stage a return of the repressed.”
